The first Moroccan pilgrims who benefited for the first time from the “Mecca Route” initiative, arrived Thursday at Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina. The Kingdom of Morocco is the second Arab country in which this initiative is implemented.
According to the Saudi press agency, the Moroccan pilgrims “passed through the hall reserved for the initiative within the Mohammed V international airport in Casablanca, where they were received by representatives of the organizations responsible for its implementation. “.
She added that the launch of the “Mecca Route” in the Kingdom of Morocco is a continuation of the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to facilitate the Hajj to pilgrims and the high concern of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince in order to provide them with the best conditions of comfort.
The “Mecca Route”, initiated by the Saudi Ministry of Interior, aims to finalize the procedures of beneficiary pilgrims, starting with the issuance of the visa online and passing through the completion of passport procedures at the airport of the country of departure, after checking the sanitary requirements, in addition to the coding and sorting of the luggage according to the methods of transport and accommodation in the Kingdom.
As soon as the pilgrims arrive, they go to buses to take them to their places of residence in Mecca and Medina, while the competent services take care of delivering their luggage to their homes.
Several Moroccan pilgrims benefiting from the “Road to Mecca” have welcomed this initiative which has contributed to relieving the pilgrims, improving the services offered to them and facilitating their travel arrangements, especially after the long waiting period for to be able to perform Hajj which has been disrupted by the covid-19 pandemic.
