The police at the Mohammed V international airport in Casablanca arrested, on Wednesday, on the basis of precise data provided by the services of the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), two citizens from a country of sub-Saharan Africa for their alleged involvement in international cocaine trafficking.

The suspects, aged 31 and 33, were arrested immediately after arriving on a flight from an airport in a central African country, said a statement from the General Directorate of National Security. (DGSN), specifying that the meticulous searches of their suitcases led to the seizure of 6 tablets of cocaine with a total weight of 17 kg and 685 grams of this drug.

The defendants were placed in police custody at the disposal of the investigation carried out by the national brigade of the judicial police to determine the local and international ramifications of this criminal activity, adds the same source.

This operation is part of the efforts made by the security services to strengthen the capacities of the border police brigades to carry out their border surveillance operations and the fight against international drug trafficking networks. and psychotropics, the statement concludes.
