The Egyptian and Algerian selections won respectively against Lebanon (1-0) at Al Thumama stadium in Doha and Sudan (4-0) at Ahmad ben Ali stadium in Al Rayyane, in matches counting for group D of the Arab Nations Cup (Qatar-2021). In the Morocco group, Saudi Arabia lost to Jordan with the score of 1 goal to 0, at the stadium of the City of Education, in Al Rayyan.
It is a faultless for the selections of North Africa during this first day of the group stage of the Arab Nations Cup. To the victories of Morocco and that of Tunisia, on Monday, were added that of Egypt and Algeria.
The Pharaohs won against Lebanon (1-0). The only goal of the game was scored by Mohamed Afsha in the second half (71st). For their part, the Fennecs got rid of Sudan thanks to Baghdad Bounedjah (11th, 37th), Djamel Benlamri (43rd) and El Arabi Soudani (46th).
At the end of this day, Algeria and Egypt are in the lead with 3 points, while Lebanon and Sudan bring up the rear of the group without the slightest unity.
In Morocco’s group, Saudi Arabia lost to Jordan. The only goal of the match was scored by Khalifah Aldawsari against his side (62nd). The two teams finished the game at 10 after the expulsion of Ehsan Haddad for Jordan (53rd) and Khalifah Aldawsari for Saudi Arabia (73rd).
The Atlas Lions, winners of Palestine (4-0), therefore take the lead in front of Jordan.
