Approval of the decree creating a Directorate General for Digital Transition

The Council of Government, meeting on Wednesday in Rabat, approved draft decree No. 2.23.405 creating a Directorate General for Digital Transition and setting its powers and organization.

The project, presented by the Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Ghita Mezzour, aims to ensure the convergence of the components of the National Digital Development Strategy with a view to providing the optimal framework for achieving of the objectives of this strategy, inspired by the royal orientations, the New Development Model, the government program and the lessons learned from the Covid-19 pandemic, in addition to the international commitments related to the areas of digital transition, indicated the spokesperson. spokesman for the government, Mustapha Baïtas, during a press briefing after the Council.

This draft decree creates a Directorate General for Digital Transition and sets its powers and organization, with a view to setting up an organizational framework ahead of preparations for a national strategy for digital development with the aim of accompany and support the projects relating to this strategy and monitor its execution, he added.
