US Secretary of State Antony Blinken began a three-day trip to Germany, France and the United Arab Emirates on Saturday. In Europe, the head of American diplomacy will attend the informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Berlin on Sunday, before participating in the meeting of the American-European Trade and Technology Council in Paris-Saclay, State Department spokesman Ned Price said in a statement.
In Berlin, Antony Blinken will attend an informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers, “during which Allies and partners will discuss their unified response to the brutal war that Russia continues to wage against Ukraine and of the next leaders’ summit in Madrid,” said Ned Price.
Afterwards, the Secretary of State will travel to Paris, accompanied by United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai and Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, to attend the second ministerial meeting of the US-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC).
The US delegation will meet with EU leaders to discuss how “democratic approaches to trade, technology and innovation can serve as a force for greater prosperity,” US diplomacy said.
On Monday, Antony Blinken will join Vice President Kamala Harris as part of the presidential delegation to offer condolences from the United States on the passing of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the same source concluded.
