Amir Ohana: The Sahara is Moroccan

Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, currently visiting the Kingdom, has clearly expressed his recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara.

During a press conference following a meeting, Thursday in Rabat, with the president of the house of representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, Ohana had these words: “The Sahara is Moroccan. I am happy. Today is a great day, and King Mohammed VI is a great man”.

In this sense, the Speaker of the Knesset hailed the leadership of the Sovereign who “is undertaking great things and working for peace”.

He also stressed that King Mohammed VI, “following in the footsteps of his grandfather, the late Mohammed V, and his father, the late Hassan II, spares no effort to preserve the Hebrew heritage in Morocco”. .

It should be noted that during this visit, Ohana offered Talbi Alami a “nano-Quran”, the smallest Quran in the world, in a unique edition, produced by an Israeli company.

He had in this regard explained on Twitter just before his arrival in Morocco, having “chose to offer my hosts an extraordinary gift that connects the Muslim religious world to the pinnacle of Israeli innovation: a nano-Quran”.

“The breakthrough of Israeli-Moroccan relations at the parliamentary level is a great opportunity to connect the past and the future, between tradition and progress, between the old and the new”, he added.
