The news was expected after the final fiasco of the election to the Executive Committee of the African Football Confederation (CAN), the president of the Algerian football federation, Djahid Zefizef, was dismissed.
In a video published on the official website of the Official Football Federation (FAF), Djahid Zefizef, who had been in office for only one year, announced that he was presenting his resignation.
Forced and coerced, the inexperienced Zefizef had to resign instead of his dismissal being announced. This separation with the FAF was expected, after its failure to receive the confidence of African nations for an election to the Executive Committee of CAF.
The Algerian candidate only received 14 votes (plus that of Algeria which voted for itself) against his Libyan counterpart who won a landslide victory.
