Algeria is preparing an anti-French campaign directed against the DGSE

The Algerian regime is preparing a new salvo of media attacks against France to increase the pressure and obtain maximum concessions in view of the visit of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to Paris. One institution in particular is in Algeria’s sights: the General Directorate of External Security (DGSE) and its boss, the former French ambassador to Algiers, Bernard Emié.

Several media sources revealed that Algeria was preparing articles containing serious accusations against France. The first was manifested by the fake news wanting to associate Morocco, France and Israel with a supposed “conspiracy meeting against Algeria”.

Except that despite the seriousness of the accusations made, Algiers neither recalled its ambassador to Paris nor summoned the French ambassador to Algiers, and did not break diplomatic relations with France, which means that it is about fake news.

If Morocco and Israel were involved in the first story, in reality it is France that is targeted. And the reason for this campaign comes down to France’s refusal to respond in the affirmative to all the demands and concessions requested by Algeria during an official visit by President Tebboune to Paris, which he wants as a major tool of communication. to launch its electoral campaign for the Algerian presidential elections in 2024.

“The Algerian press will broadcast in the coming days content peddling serious accusations against the DGSE (the French foreign intelligence services)”, indicated the Maghreb intelligence media, adding details on the nature of these accusations, “conspiracy hatched with Moroccans and Israelis, logistical support for Algerian opponents exiled in France, Machiavellian maneuvers to torpedo Algerian interests in Europe and Africa”.

The Algerian military regime essentially targets French foreign intelligence and their chief Bernard Emié, former French ambassador to Algeria. According to the same source, “all the components of the Algerian regime suspect Emié of being at the origin of all the blockages preventing France from providing frank or infallible support to Algeria”.

For the Algerian generals, it would be this institution that would prevent Emmanuel Macron from responding to all Algerian demands and carrying out his reconciliation project. The DGSE, according to the Algerian narrative, would like the French president to distance himself from Algerian power.

Moreover, all the misfortunes of Algeria are attributed to this institution directed by Bernard Emié and the French deep state. The Algerian regime would like to create yet another crisis with France by pretending that the problem is the DGSE in order to obtain concessions from Paris to show its good faith. A tricky manipulation strategy that doesn’t seem to be working so far.

Indeed, the former French ambassador to Algeria, Xavier Driencourt, believes that, on the contrary, it is necessary to make matters worse for the Algerians and to put an end to the regime of privileges that Algeria takes for granted.

The diplomat called on France to suspend the agreement of December 27, 1968 concerning the rights passes and advantages offered to Algerians who travel and settle in France.
