Arrived Wednesday evening in Algeria for the meeting against the team of JS Kabylie, the delegation of the sports team of Wydad of Casablanca ran up, as soon as landed, with difficulties. Security at Houari Boumediene airport in Algiers confiscated the photographic equipment of the team’s media unit.
As Wydad face JS Kabylie in the second round of the group stage of the CAF Champions League, Algerian authorities have ordered the confiscation of all video equipment from the team and the keep until the date of return and departure of the mission from Algerian soil.
The Wydad delegation arrived at Houari Boumediene airport in Algiers, after a flight that transited through Tunisia, due to the closure of the direct airline from Morocco, was surprised by this new incomprehensible act which aims a sports team.
Prior to this, Moroccan media and journalists were mistreated by the Algerian authorities on numerous occasions during international events organized in Algeria.
This was the case for the official RTM media, which accompanied Nasser Bourita to the Arab League Summit, whose equipment was confiscated, and the sports journalists for the Mediterranean Games last June, who were sequestered for several hours at the airport before telling them to leave Algerian soil.
Wydad must face JS Kabylie for its first match of the group stage of the CAF Champions League, tomorrow Friday, from eight o’clock in the evening, at the “July 5” stadium.
