Road Safety figures further indicate that traffic accidents caused the death of 3,275 people in 2019 and 2,844 in 2020.
According to the National Delegate for Road Safety, Ahmed Naït El Hocine, road accidents cost the Algerian state 100 billion dinars, according to the latest survey carried out by the transport and logistics laboratory of the University of Batna .
In a recent press statement, he noted that 2,844 people were killed and 25,836 others were injured in 18,949 road accidents, recorded in 2020 across Algerian territory.
