Akhannouch receives the President of the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation

The president of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) party, Aziz Akhannouch, received, on Tuesday in Rabat, the president of the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation, former president of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany and a prominent figure in the European People’s Party (EPP), Norbert Lammert.

A press release from the RNI indicates that this meeting is part of the party’s role in parallel diplomacy, at the service of the great causes of the country, as well as the strengthening of the partnerships of the National Rally of Independents with a group of friendly parties with which it has cooperation and partnership agreements.

At the beginning of the meeting, it is specified, the two parties welcomed the quality of the relations rooted and marked by mutual appreciation and respect between Morocco and Germany, which are sponsored by the leaders of the two country, King Mohammed VI and Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany.

On this occasion, Lammert welcomed the stability experienced by Morocco, under the leadership of HM the King, hailing, in this sense, the major reforms underway in the Kingdom, whether consolidation of the democratic process, or Morocco’s efforts in economic and social development.

For his part, Aziz Akhannouch praised the level of solid and distinguished relations between Morocco and the majority of the countries of the European Union, emphasizing in particular the positive development of relations with Germany, the Austria and a group of central and northern EU countries.

He also expressed his thanks to Lammert, and through him to the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation and the EPP, for the constructive role they play in protecting the exceptional partnership between Morocco and the EU, in the face of “incomprehensible attempts of certain political forces within the European Parliament, which are bent on undermining this partnership, especially as the two parties face common challenges in various fields such as development, immigration and security, which which obliges them to cooperate jointly.

At the end of the meeting, the two parties agreed on the need to strengthen the partnership and cooperation between the RNI and the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation, particularly with regard to the youth and women’s sectors.
