Akhannouch launches the April round of social dialogue

The Head of Government proceeded, Friday, April 14, 2023 in Rabat, to the launch of the April round of social dialogue, in the presence of Younes Sekkouri, Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Labor and Skills, Fouzi Lekjaa, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance, in charge of the Budget, Mustapha Baitas Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesperson, as well as the Secretary General of the Ministry Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Investment, Convergence and the evaluation of public policies.

The Head of Government began his consultations with the trade unions, with a meeting with the representatives of the Moroccan Labor Union (UMT), led by the Secretary General of the UMT, Mr. Miloudi Moukhariq, followed by a meeting with representatives of the General Union of Workers of Morocco (UGTM), led by the general secretary of the UGTM, Mr. Enaam Mayara. Other meetings are scheduled in the coming days between the government and its social and economic partners, in consolidation of the achievements made, and enshrined in the minutes of the agreement of April 30, 2022.

The Head of Government noted that the launch of the April round of social dialogue took place in a positive and responsible climate, marked by total respect and the exchange of points of view, underlining the honorable results of social dialogue; the government having ensured compliance with a large number of its commitments, despite the difficult economic situation.

The Head of Government added that the holding of these meetings firmly confirms the institutionalization of social dialogue and the total respect of the annual meetings, specifying that the parties have agreed on the continuation of joint action and reflection. , within a joint committee, in the presence of the various social partners, with a view to examining all measures likely to improve the purchasing power of citizens, with a view to preparing the next finance bill.

The launch of the April round of social dialogue is part of the government’s commitment to implementing the royal vision relating to the institutionalization of social dialogue, raised to the status of a strategic choice. The government has endeavored in this context, since its inauguration, to build solid partnerships with the trade unions, with a view to laying the foundations for a serious and regular social dialogue and to respect all the social commitments included in the government program.
