Akhannouch completes his field visit to the Draa-Tafilalet region in Tinghir

The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch completed, on Saturday June 17, his visit to the Draa-Tafilalet region at the head of a ministerial delegation, with a visit to the province of Tinghir during which he inquired about the progress of a series of social and economic projects.

This field visit is part of the government’s consecration of the policy of listening and proximity to citizens, in line with its commitment to the consolidation of spatial equity and in accordance with the will expressed by King Mohammed VI.

On this occasion, the Head of Government followed presentations on the progress of drinking water supply projects in several centers and douars in the province, as well as projects for the construction of small dams and hill lakes equipped with a budget of 627 million dirhams.

He also reviewed the progress of works to widen and strengthen the national road N12, linking the cities of Tinghir and Midelt.

In the health and social protection sector, the Head of Government paid a field visit to the construction site of the provincial hospital of Tinghir, a project endowed with 240 million dirhams (MDH).

He also followed presentations relating to a series of projects in the health sector, relating to the upgrading of the Boumalne Dadès hospital, for an envelope of 65 MDH, the upgrading of 21 health centers to an overall cost of 44.7 MDH, the upgrading and reconstruction of 9 rural health centers at a cost of 22.4 MDH, the construction of a level 1 health center in Afanor, the equipment in scanner Kellat Megouna hospital and the acquisition of dialysis devices for the Alnif centre.

In the sector of National Education, preschool and sport, presentations were made to the Head of Government relating to the implementation of 40 projects for a total cost of 143.76 MDH. These projects relate to the construction of 116 classrooms for preschool (29.72 MDH), the extension of schools with 68 new classrooms (15.78 MDH), the upgrading of 40 primary education, 11 colleges and high schools and 9 qualifying secondary education establishments, as well as on the construction of health structures in 75 educational establishments and the installation of fences at the level of 107 educational establishments (25.3 MDH ).

In agriculture, the Head of Government took note of the progress of the implementation of the Regional Agricultural Plan in the province of Tinghir. He also followed explanations on the Program to reduce territorial and social disparities in rural areas in the province of Tinghir, for the year 2022, endowed with 179.5 MDH, as well as on the action plan under of the year 2023, which includes the construction of some 140 kilometers of roads, tracks and structures, at a cost of 304.1 MDH, which will allow the opening up of 20,000 people.

The Head of Government also followed presentations relating to a series of projects in the tourism sector. He thus took note of the evolutions of the program of development of mountain tourism and oases in the province of Tinghir, declined in two programs, an emergency program 2023 – 2024 endowed with 103 MDH and aiming at the touristic valorization of the Toudgha gorges , the development of panoramic platforms at several tourist sites, as well as the enhancement and upgrading of tourist accommodation.

A second complementary program 2025-2027, endowed with 107 MDH, aims at the development of tourism, the creation of income-generating activities, the creation of exhibition centers, as well as the establishment of platforms for hang-gliders and hot-air balloons.

At the end of his visit to the different provinces of the Draa-Tafilalet region, the Head of Government held a meeting with the members of the Council of the region, during which he learned about the different approaches, projections and constraints expressed by elected officials. It was agreed during this meeting to set up permanent bridges between the Government and the Region in order to take into consideration the needs and aspirations expressed in connection with the various development programs.

Akhannouch underlined on this occasion that the development projects initiated at the level of the various provinces of the region, aim at the implementation at the territorial level of the sectoral strategies adopted by the government.

These projects, he added, also intend to devote effectively the construction of the “social state” and contribute to the construction of Morocco of prosperity and dignity to which King Mohammed VI calls.

Finally, the Head of Government assured the government’s commitment to ensuring the implementation of the various projects within the set deadlines.

As a reminder, Akhannouch had made a field visit in the last three days to the provinces of Errachidia, Ouarzazate, Zagora and Tinghir, in the Draa-Tafilalet region, at the head of a ministerial delegation including the Minister of ‘Equipment and Water,, Nizar Baraka, the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khaled Ait Taleb, the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Mohamed Saddiki , the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatima Zahra Ammor and the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, Abdellatif Miraoui.

The visits made to the various provinces of the region made it possible to examine the state of progress of the development projects initiated beforehand and to learn about the projects whose work will be launched in the provinces of the region, within the framework of the policy of the government aimed at enshrining spatial equity between the different provinces and regions of the Kingdom.
