A partnership agreement was signed, this Monday March 29, between the Federation for the distribution of consumer products TIJARA 2020, and the Center Monétique Interbancaire (CMI), the objective being to deploy, together, the necessary efforts to promote and develop electronic payment in commerce and distribution.
The two partners indicate in a press release that the digital payments sector has seen many innovations in recent years. Notably, real-time payments, mobile wallets, and P2P mobile payments. These factors, added to others, including the unprecedented Covid-19 health crisis, have strongly contributed to the growth of the electronic payments sector, estimates the same source.
” While the use of cash remains predominant in many parts of the world, especially for small-value transactions, the adoption of electronic payments is growing. Consider the two partners, noting that in Morocco, the generalization of electronic payment, to all transactions and sectors, particularly that of commerce and distribution, is still a real challenge.
Hence the challenge of this agreement, specify the two partners, the objective of which is to accelerate the digitization of payments for the benefit of TIJARA 2020 members and their customers, the implementation of actions aimed at facilitation and ” adoption of electronic payment methods, information exchange, organization of training and exchange programs of experts acting, in an integrated manner, in increasing the use of electronic payment in Morocco.
