The case of Fawaz, a Syrian child kidnapped from Daraa Fawaz al-Qatifan continues to top social media, amid a call for the relevant authorities to rescue him from his captors after posting a video showing his brutal torture in return of a ransom.
The case of Fawaz, who is from the village of Ibtaa in the countryside of Deraa governorate, came to light after his captors released a video showing him being tortured and beaten in order to force his relatives to pay a large ransom in exchange for his return to them, according to what appeared in the circulating videos.
Activists circulated the hashtag “Save the child Fawaz Al-Qatifan” in several Arab countries, in order to work for his release and rescue.
The case of kidnapped Fawaz is more than 3 months old, but the release of the latest video showing his torture at the hands of his captors, and coinciding with the case of Rayan stuck in a deep well, which caught the world’s attention, again sparked public opinion and social media sites amid persistent calls to save it and demand the protection of children everywhere and that the perpetrators be held accountable.
Syrians have been circulating on social media, photos of the kidnapped child, Fawaz Qetaifan, and the video has circulated in which the child appears half-naked while being whipped, and he has no other choice but to plead with his captors with the phrase, “For the love of God, don’t hit me. »
The video was published by the unknown kidnappers, about 3 months after the child’s abduction, in order to force his family to pay a very large ransom, amounting to 500 million Syrian pounds, or approximately 125,000 euros.
