The Center, which reports to the African Union, notes that 70 new cases of monkeypox have been reported from three African countries in the past week (16 cases in Ghana, 16 confirmed cases and 37 suspected cases in Nigeria) and (one confirmed case in Liberia).
The case fatality rate from monkeypox in Africa currently stands at 3.6%.
