The Council of Government, meeting on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch, adopted draft decree n°2.22.472 issued for the application of law n°80.21 establishing the national agricultural register.
Presented by the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Mohamed Sadiki, this draft decree is part of the reforms aimed at achieving the objectives and orientations of the “Generation Green 2020-2030”, indicated the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas, during a press briefing after the Council.
And to continue that the Ministry of Agriculture has put in place new mechanisms to monitor and evaluate its various interventions at the level of farms with a view to modernizing them and improving their production, in addition to highlighting the human element. as the main axis in the development of the agricultural sector, particularly through an optimal implementation of the important royal project of generalization of social protection.
Also, the Minister indicated that this draft decree makes it possible to complete the regulatory texts relating to Law 80.21 establishing the National Agricultural Register as an important institutional mechanism to provide a structural database on agricultural holdings. This database, which will provide an accurate map of farms, will be regularly updated to guide agricultural policies, interventions, plans and other programs concerning agriculture.
The said project also aims to specify that the administration, cited in Law 80.21, is the government authority responsible for agriculture, as well as to set the procedures for registering agricultural holdings in this register (steps to follow and documents to be provided) and the procedures for updating and deleting the data from said register, and for issuing registration certificates.
