ACAPS: Insurance premiums issued in 2021 up 9.9%

Premiums issued by all insurance and reinsurance companies, with the exception of exclusive reinsurers, amounted to 50.2 billion dirhams (MMDH) in 2021, i.e. growth of +9.9% compared to compared to the previous year.

The “Life” branch recorded an increase of 12.5% ​​to 22.9 billion dirhams and the “Non-life” branch totaled 27.3 billion dirhams, up 7.7%, indicated the Insurance Supervisory Authority and de la prévoyance sociale (ACAPS) in its annual statistics for the 2021 financial year.

At the level of the “Life” branch, the “Savings-dirhams”, “Death” and “Savings-unit-linked support” segments respectively marked increases of +12.2% to 18.02 billion dirhams, +10.2 % at 3.21 billion dirhams and +20% at 1.7 billion dirhams.

In the “Non-life” branch, the Authority also reports an increase in premiums for “Automotive” by +8.6% to 12.98 billion dirhams and “Personal accidents” with a growth of +8%. at 4.77 billion dirhams.
