The Insurance and Social Security Supervisory Authority (ACAPS), reported an increase in premiums issued by insurance and reinsurance companies at the end of September 2021, to stand at more than 39 billion dirhams (MMDH), an increase of 10.8% compared to the end of September 2020.
The “Life” branch grew by 15.1% to over 18.07 billion dirhams and the “Non-life” branch rose from 7.5% to 21.25 billion dirhams, according to the quarterly statistics published by the Authority. .
In the third quarter of 2021 alone, ACAPS reports an increase in premiums of 10.6% to nearly 11.15 billion dirhams. “Life” premiums increased by 11.9% to 5.52 billion dirhams and “non-life” by 9.4% to 5.62 billion dirhams.
In addition, the Authority informs that the services and fees paid, for the third quarter of 2021, amounted to nearly 7.31 billion dirhams, an increase of 15.4% compared to Q3-2020.
Acquisition costs amounted to MAD 836 million (MDH), down 3.7% and management costs amounted to nearly MAD 1.08 billion (-25.6%).
