Abdessamad Ezzalzouli convinced Xavi. The FC Barcelona player will join the first team next season after playing with the Catalan club’s B team.
Coveted by many European teams, Abdessamad Ezzalzouli could well be tempted to stay at FC Barcelona if Xavi assures him a place on the front of the stage.
Nicknamed ‘Abde’ had already burst into the FC Barcelona first team in just his first season with the club, coming on as an 80th-minute substitute in a 1-1 draw against Alaves in October 2021.
Since then, the 20-year-old has continued to make appearances in all competitions but lost his place with the new January signings.
However, Adama Traore, who will return to Wolverhampton in June, will open the door to the first team for the Morocco international.
According to the Spanish press, the striker who won Xavi’s trust, will get a place among the professionals with FC Barcelona for 2022-23. The former Hercules aims to be one of FC Barcelona’s young references for next season.
January was one of the most critical months of the season for Barca. Aware of the club’s need, Ezzalzouli had given up playing the African Cup with Morocco to stay in Catalonia and help the first team.
This gesture allowed him to gain the confidence of his coach, although he was linked to a departure this summer, coveted by Betis, Sevilla FC or AS Roma.
