A woman and her minor daughter were arrested on Sunday by elements of the criminal brigade of the prefectural service of the judicial police and the judicial brigade of the Ben M’Sik security district in Casablanca, on suspicion of involvement in a case of assault and battery leading to death, associated with the voluntary cremation of the remains of the victim in order to remove the traces of the crime.
A press release from the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) indicates that the judicial police services of the Ben M’Sik security district in Casablanca had undertaken, on Saturday April 10, the steps to find the remains of the victim found in an apartment in Ben M’Sik bearing the traces of an assault with a blunt object and deliberately set on fire.
He added that this arrest was made possible thanks to precise information provided by the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
The DGSN also specifies that the police services immediately began intense research and investigations on the ground which made it possible, within a short time, to identify and arrest the suspects, aged 58 and 14 respectively, in the area. town of Tifelt, in possession of personal effects and identity documents belonging to the victim.
The adult defendant was placed in police custody while the minor was placed under police control at the disposal of the investigation carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to elucidate the ins and outs of this case.
