The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed the week from April 10 to 14 on a small increase, its flagship index, the MASI, gaining 0.09% to 10,470.49 points (pts).
The MASI 20, which reflects the price performance of the 20 most liquid companies, also advanced 0.09% to 840.48 points, while the MASI ESG, the benchmark Environment, Social and Governance index, left 0, 13% to 792.28 points.
Regarding the MASI Mid and Small Cap, thematic index which calculates the performance of the prices of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, it fell by 0.54%, to 848.09 pts.
On the value front, 11 sector indices ended the week in good shape, 10 indices in negative territory and two remained stable.
The beverage sector posted the best performance of the week (+6.06%), ahead of leisure and hotels (+4.58%) and agrifood (+3.31%).
Conversely, the engineering and industrial capital goods index recorded the largest drop (-5.53%) followed by the pharmaceutical sector which dropped 4.62% and that of Forestry and paper (-3, 61%).
For this week, the overall volume of trade amounted to more than 495.012 million dirhams (MDH), including more than 494.84 MDH made on the central market (equities).
On the podium of the most active stocks of the week are LafargeHolcim Morocco with a transactional volume of nearly 66.59 MDH, followed by Attijariwafa Bank (51.38 MDH) and Afma (48.71 MDH).
Market capitalization amounted to more than 545 billion dirhams.
In terms of values, the best performances of the week were the work of IB MAROC.COM (+8.35% to 20.50 DH), Société des Boissons du Maroc (+7.80% to 2,612 MDH), Ennakl ( +6.47% to 34.88 DH), Atlantasanad (+5.44% to 129 DH) and Cosumar (+5.17% to 183 MDH).
On the other hand, the biggest drops were recorded by STROC INDUSTRIE (-11.49% to 30.67 DH), Sanlam Morocco (-7.50% to 900 DH), Total Energies Marketing (-5.50% at 1,238 DH), Salafin (-5.17% at 550 DH) and Sothema (-5.11% at 1,300 DH).
