On the occasion of the final of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) U-23, which resulted in the victory of the Moroccan under-23 team against its Egyptian counterpart (2-1), thousands of Moroccan supporters came to the Moulay Abdellah complex in Rabat to support our young talents.
The atmosphere was simply electric at the Moulay Abdellah stadium in Rabat on Saturday evening. Everything went very well. I was even able to sit in the seat indicated on my ticket. People were friendly and everyone seemed to be having fun. The atmosphere was simply magnificent, especially with the victory of our team at the end“, says a young woman who is attending a match at the stadium for the first time.
In addition to the civic spirit shown by the Moroccan supporters, an important security system has been put in place by the competent authorities to ensure the smooth running of this major sporting event. Everything leads to believe that Morocco is actively preparing for the CAN 2025 and the 2030 World Cup, for the organization of which it is a candidate.
Indeed, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) mobilized more than 5,000 police officers from the various security units and services to ensure the security of this final.
Thus, the DGSN has deployed specialized technical teams and intervention groups responsible for taking charge of all the organizational aspects related to major sporting events, in order to guarantee the success of this match, which is part of the continuity of the preparations in view of the joint candidacy of Morocco, Spain and Portugal to host the 2030 World Cup.
In order to avoid the intrusion of people without tickets near the stadium, the security services proceeded to a rigorous sorting upstream, in particular at the entrance to the city of Rabat on the side of the Zoological Garden of the capital, as well as at the entrance from the side of Temara.
