Spears announced in early April that she and Asghari were expecting their first child together, and what would have been her third. She shares two sons, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, with ex Kevin Federline.
The popstar’s pregnancy came just months after her nearly 14-year guardianship by her father, Jamie Spears, ended.
During hearings to seek an end to conservatorship, Spears expressed a desire to have a baby with Asghari, but claimed she was prevented from doing so after an IUD was implanted against her will.
Spears has previously explained that she suffered from perinatal depression during and/or after her previous pregnancies.
