The elements of the anti-gang brigade under the prefectural service of the judicial police in Salé arrested, Tuesday morning, 3 people for their alleged involvement in a case of trafficking in psychotropic drugs, we learned from a security source.

The three suspects are between 55 and 70 years old, and among them is a doctor, a pharmacist and his assistant. The suspects were identified thanks to another case dating from last week which led to the arrest of 2 people between Salé and Deroua near Casablanca and the seizure of 3,330 psychotropic tablets.

The 3 individuals were arrested in Casablanca on the basis of information provided by the services of the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), during a security intervention on Tuesday.

The research showed that the doctor arrested was involved in providing prescriptions that the pharmacist and his assistant used to obtain quantities of psychotropic drugs before delivering them to drug traffickers, continues the same source.

And to specify that the searches carried out within the framework of this affair made it possible to seize an additional cargo consisting of 3,300 psychotropic tablets of various types, as well as a batch of prescriptions and invoices relating to the acquisition of psychotropic substances, in addition the seizure of a doctor’s stamp in question and a sum of money suspected of being the loot of this criminal activity.

The three defendants were placed in police custody at the disposal of the judicial investigation carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to arrest all the people involved in this criminal act and to detect their links with the trafficking networks. of drugs and psychotropics, concludes the same source.
