Four workers died on Tuesday of asphyxiation in a production unit specializing in fish packaging in Dakhla, local authorities said.
Three other workers are currently under medical supervision at the Hassan II regional hospital in Dakhla, said the same source, noting that one of them is placed in intensive care, while the state of health of a fourth worker is stable.
According to preliminary data, it adds, the tragedy occurred when the people concerned tried to rescue a worker who was cleaning the pipes of the fish waste collection tank inside the aforementioned production unit.
An investigation has been opened by the authorities concerned, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, to elucidate the circumstances of this accident.
