The prefectural service of the judicial police of Casablanca thwarted, on Friday, on the basis of precise information provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), an attempt at international drug trafficking and proceeded to the seizure of 25,000 ecstasy tablets.
The quantity of psychrotrophs seized was in the possession of the driver of an international transport truck registered in Europe, indicates the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release, adding that the respondent, who brought back the smuggled cargo from Spain, attempted to hand her over to a second suspect in Casablanca.
During this operation, the vehicle used in international drug trafficking was also seized.
The driver and the second suspect were placed in police custody at the disposal of the investigation carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office in order to elucidate the possible national and international ramifications of this criminal activity and to determine all the acts alleged against the two defendants, the statement concluded.
