2.9% rise in producer prices in December

The producer price index for the “Manufacturing industries excluding oil refining” sector increased by 2.9% during the month of December 2021 compared to November 2021, according to the High Commission for Planning (HCP).

This increase is the result of the 15.3% rise in prices for the “Chemical industry”, 0.5% for the “Manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products” and 0.1% for the “Manufacturing foodstuffs”, “Manufacture of textiles”, “Woodworking and manufacture of wooden and cork articles” and in “Manufacture of electrical equipment”, specifies the HCP in an information note relating to the industrial, energy and mining producer price index (IPPIEM) for December 2021.

This variation also takes into account the 0.7% drop in prices recorded in the “Metallurgy” and 0.3% in the “Clothing industry”, adds the same source.

In addition, the producer price indices for the “Extractive industries”, “Electricity production and distribution” and “Water production and distribution” sectors stagnated during the month of December 2021. .
