A total of 172 trade missions to and from Morocco were organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad during the year 2022, said the head of Moroccan diplomacy, Nasser Bourita. .
Passing through the House of Representatives on Monday, Bourita explained that his department also contributed to the organization of 150 economic forums and sectoral exhibitions and to the establishment of 145 commercial liaison operations for the benefit of Moroccan and foreign investors.
In response to an oral question from the group of the National Rally of Independents on the theme “strengthening economic diplomacy”, the Minister also explained that the MAE intervened as a mediator between Moroccan and foreign operators, with a view to resolving 51 trade disputes.
The role of this department is also reflected in the signing of 95 economic conventions, noted Bourita, noting that Morocco currently totals 1,400 economic conventions relating to areas such as investment and trade, which constitute as many tools made available to Moroccan economic operators.
He also stressed that economic diplomacy is an important part of the Kingdom’s foreign policy as outlined by King Mohammed VI, recalling that Morocco’s strength lies in its diplomatic network, made up of 105 embassies and 57 consulates, which contributes to the promotion of the Morocco Label and the assets and potentialities of the Kingdom.
