The attacks that took place Thursday near Kabul airport left 13 to 20 dead and 52 injured, said the main spokesman for the Taliban.
“Our initial information shows that between 13 and 20 people were killed, and 52 injured in the explosions at the airport in Kabul,” said Zabihullah Mujahid, who had previously said on Twitter “strongly condemn” the attacks.
Several US servicemen were killed and injured in the attack, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said.
“We confirm that a number of soldiers were killed in the complex bombing at Kabul airport,” Kirby said in a statement. “A number of others were injured.”
